Schoonschip is a floating village in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, designed by the studio Space&Matter in cooperation with the residents.
The floating village is a highly ambitious project when it comes to sustainability. The residents own their own houses but share a detached sewer system and an independent energy system, among other sustainable initiatives.
In this video host at Arka, Ane Cortzen, talks with the architect and co-founder at Space&Matter, Marthijn Pool.
Address: VvE Schoonschip, Johan van Hasseltkade 225B, 1032 LP Amsterdam.
