In a collaboration with AHEC, the concept Vert has been created. Vert is an innovative green system designed to bring fast-growing, yearly plants into urban spaces, tackling the challenge of city heat islands caused by excessive concrete and asphalt. Unlike traditional green systems that rely on perennial plants, Vert uses annual plants that thrive from April to October, generating substantial biomass within a year. This approach provides efficient, immediate greenery where conventional planting isn’t feasible due to lack of soil and root space. By integrating Vert structures, cities can combat urban heat and improve environmental resilience amidst global warming.
